Julia Cameron thinks that it can. Her latest book, The Writing Diet–Write Yourself the Right-Size, touts the idea that when you are creative and you focus your efforts on “counting words not calories” that you can also lose weight in the process.

I’ve been a bit lax on blogging since before Thanksgiving. NANOWRIMO had me busy, so did traveling for work, so did all the holidays. I’m fairly sure that I’m not an isolated case–everything seems to get back on track after the New Year.

I’ve not really been cursing NANOWRIMO…mostly just cussing out myself for being so behind. I’m at 20,005 words when I should be closer to 30,000. But I have two full days to catch up before we get wrapped up in Thanksgiving, so hopefully I can get a little closer.
